STUDENTS have had the chance to learn about integration in society while enjoying songs and dance as they prepare for their performance of the "Hairspray" musical.

Set in 1962, the musical is based around black and white integration and about a group of young black and white singers who want to perform together.

In preparation for the musical, students at Oasis Academy Oldham have had history lessons on the civil rights movement and integration so they can better understand their characters.

The show starts tonight at 7.30pm at the academy with another performance tomorrow at the same time. Admission is £2 on the door.
