KIND-HEARTED pupils and staff at Oasis Academy dug deep when they were asked to support a children's charity.
They donated hundreds of books, Easter eggs and enough food to fill three hampers which were presented to Wood Street Mission, Manchester, which has been supporting families affected by poverty since the 1800s.
The city-centre mission is committed to helping families offering practical help and services to support them as they try to lift themselves out of poverty.
Higher level teaching assistant Chris Shaw organised the activities at Oasis after deciding she wanted to support a children's charity.
"The mission is all about improving life chances," she said. "We've had a really good response from children and staff at the school."
