AUDIENCES were treated to performances about everything from Macbeth to stinky brothers and rapping grans at the 32nd Oldham Primary Schools Choral Speaking Festival.
More than 2,800 pupils from across the borough took part in the three-day event at Oldham Coliseum, which fosters enjoyment of poetry and develops self confidence.
Organised by the Rotary Club of Oldham Metro, adjudicator Ann Warr said: “The standard of clarity in the choirs is improving year on year and we have seen another big improvement this year with many groups reaching distinction level. It’s wonderful to see so many Oldham schoolchildren enjoying presenting poetry in a theatre to friends and parents.”
