Failing school still not doing enough

A FAILING secondary school has been told it isn’t doing enough to improve.

Education watchdog Ofsted classed Failsworth School in the lowest “inadequate” grade and put it in special measures in December 2014.

Inspectors who returned last month concluded the school wasn’t taking effective action to remove the classification.

They praised the replacement of the school’s governing body with a highly-experienced interim executive board - a temporary governing body appointed to make improvements.

The school has also introduced initiatives to improve teaching and learning, but Ofsted says they aren’t enough.
