Impressive Chaddy are the comeback kings

CHADDERTON'S resurgence in form continued with a 4-2 home victory against high-flying Oswestry Town in the Hallmark Security League First Division, writes SIMON SMEDLEY.

It was a topsy-turvy game at the ARK Fleetech Stadium as Chaddy came from two goals behind to secure their latest win.

Jack Harris (penalty) and Brendan Price had Oswestry in cruise control early on, but Chaddy had levelled before the break thanks to replies from Matty Crothers and Lewis Lacy.

It was one-way traffic in the second period as Sam Gibson and Liam Ellis went on to secure another impressive triumph for Mark Howard's rapidly improving side.

Chaddy still have 17 games left this term to try to bridge a 15-point gap between their current 12th place in the table and the play-off positions.

They return to action on Saturday with a trip to Alsager Town.

MOSSLEY'S woes increased as they lost a fourth straight Evo-Stik League Division One North fixture, 2-1 at play-off chasing Colne. All the goals came in the first half.

Matt Ayres fired the hosts in front from the penalty spot.

Travelling Lilywhites fans must then have feared the worst after 25 minutes when Oliver Wood's strike doubled Colne's lead.

However, the visitors did respond almost immediately.

Kyle McGonigle scored from the penalty spot before the half-hour mark was up to halve the deficit.

Mossley spurned a number of chances in the second half as they sort to find that elusive equaliser.

Their cause was further hindered late on when substitute Sam Robinson - who came on in the 65th minute - was sent off.

The Lilywhites are back in action on Saturday when they host league leaders Lancaster City.
