UPPERMILL professional Ayaz Tasawaar had quite a weekend in the Pennine Cricket League Championship.

After scoring a century in the defeat of Micklehurst on Saturday - see Page 32 - the Pakistani followed up with a terrific 92 not out as the lads from Leefields stunned Milnrow by six wickets at Ladyhouse.

Tasawaar struck 12 fours and a six in reply to the home side's all-out total of 137.

Belligerent with the bat, he was also effective with the ball, taking four wickets for 39 runs.

Jameel Stuart produced another batting masterclass as Shaw raced to their victory target of 221 in exactly 28 overs at Micklehurst.

The overseas amateur bludgeoned 147 not out from only 74 balls, hitting 13 fours and 13 sixes. It was his second century of the season.

Micklehurst's innings was centred on their overseas player, Australian Andrew Kohler, who struck a fine 97 (11 fours, five sixes).

He shared in a fifth-wicket stand of 150 with Muhammed Numan (40).

Royton recovered from their narrow loss at home to Moorside by overcoming Hollinwood by a comfortable six-wicket margin at Lime Lane.

The hosts were dismissed for exactly 100.

Middleton continued their merry way at the top of the table with an emphatic eight-wicket win over Oldham at Towncroft.

It was as straightforward as it gets for the leaders, who knocked over the visitors to Towncroft for a meagre 45.

Taking first knock, Werneth compiled 197 for nine, which featured 64 from Ali Muzaffar.
