GLODWICK had little trouble in maintaining their 100-per-cent record in the Pennine Cricket League's Tom Hardman Twenty20 Cup.

Buoyed by a 21-run defeat of Crompton in the opening round of matches in Group 'B', the Warren Lane outfit followed up by sweeping aside Hollinwood.

Needing only 67, Glodwick coasted home for the loss of two wickets in exactly nine overs.

Captain Simon Wright struck 42 for Crompton, who reached 118 for against Milnrow, in a match reduced to 15 overs per side because of rain.

The hosts were dismissed for 108 in reply.

In a match reduced to 16 overs per side because of rain, Ashton made exactly 100 for the loss of four at Royton.

The home side, with pro Chirag Khurana hitting 59 off 38 balls, reached their target in 12 overs.

Moorside made it two wins from two in Group 'A' with a nine-wicket defeat of Micklehurst, who were limited to 106 for nine in a 15-over-per-side game.

Josh Lenihan scored an unbeaten 41 as Monton and Weaste also recorded an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Stayley.

The match between Heyside and Norden ended as a tie after both teams had made 144.

Paid man Bilal Khiljee and Max Power scored 65 and 48 respectively for Heyside.

But it was Norden who bagged the points after bettering the eight runs Heyside scored on the fifth ball in the super over.

In Group 'C', Clinton Perren's 60, from 39 balls, helped Littleborough to reach 151 in 18 overs against Shaw, who mustered 67 for three.

Saddleworth bowled out for 112 in reply to Walsden's 166 for six, while 46 from Grant Jones helped Middleton to a 72-run defeat of Werneth.

Two games in Group 'D', at Greenfield and Uppermill, succumbed to rain after both got starts.
