MIDDLETON claimed the Burton Cup - the Pennine Cricket League's primary second XI KO trophy - with a comfortable six-wicket defeat of hosts Glodwick at Warren Lane.
The home side were going along quite nicely at 60 for three, but a collapse saw them slip to 107 for nine.
Father and son, captain Richard and Nathan Connolly, then dug in, adding 32 runs for the 10th wicket before the latter was caught by Tom Astley off James Tierney for 16 in the 39th over.
Brad Heap top-scored with 27 in the total of 139, while Joel Harris took three for 34. Tierney, Mohammed Shahid and Mohammed Sohail had two wickets apiece.
Middleton openers Matt Lee (28) and Reece Jones (25) put on 53 for the first wicket.
Another notable partnership saw Shahid (37) and Tierney (32) add 72, which steered Middleton within two runs of the winning post.
Both players were dismissed before Middleton crossed the line with almost 20 overs to spare.
