SOCCER: Oldham A ended 2009 with back-to-back wins in the Greater Manchester Ability Counts League.
They defeated Oakwood Sports College 3-0 — S Ferris (two) and A Flynn got the goals — and they overcame Manchester United by same scoreline with L Bennett and B Kielty on target.
L Aspin scored twice for Oldham ‘B’ in a 2-2 draw against Wigan, before going down 3-0 to Tameside.
