RUGBY:
HIGGINSHAW are to revert to playing winter rugby.
Coaches Chris Tomlin and Ryan O'Donnell have resigned through lack of numbers at training sessions, so the club is to take time out from competitive action and rejoin the North-West Counties League later this year.
A staement from the club thanked the pair -and suggested approaches from other clubs had been responsible for the lack of players.
Blackpool Scorpions have taken over Higginshaw's league fixtures. Higginshaw officials have confirmed the team isn’t folding. Current players will be retained in readiness for a return to the league.
Training starts on July 17; potential players welcome. Phone 07925 587579 for details.
