Repeat display is target

RUGBY: MICK Fogerty has called for “more of the same” from his Oldham St Anne’s side in tomorrow’s Kingstone Press National Conference League Division Two clash at home to Elland (kick-off 2.30pm).

Saints opened their campaign with a 30-22 win at Leigh East, and a repeat display in front of their own fans at Higginshaw Road is the target.

First-season coach Fogerty said: “It was a very good win against a well-drilled side. We really knuckled down and showed great team spirit.

“Hopefully, we can produce more of the same tomorrow; four points from our first two games would be massive for us. We can kick on from there.”

Prop Simon Topping and No.13 Craig Highton are available after missing last Saturday.

Elland opened their campaign with a 14-0 defeat at home to Halifax rivals Ovenden.

WATERHEAD also have home comforts in Division Two, with Stanley Rangers the visitors to Peach Road (2.30pm).

Chris Hough’s men did not get off to the best of starts as they suffered a 70-22 loss at Pilkington Recs. Rangers put plenty of points on the board in their season’s opener — 42 against Castleford Panthers — but they also shipped 36 and trailed 24-6 at one stage in the first half.

SADDLEWORTH Rangers are on their travels in Division One tomorrow.

Cumbria is the destination for the Shaw Hall Bank Road club, with Millom playing host (2.30pm).

A 26-26 draw at home to Milford Marlins represented a promising start for Rangers, who were in front for much of the contest.

Millom, meanwhile, were on the wrong end of a 60-20 hammering at Rochdale Mayfield.
