Non-league football: PLANNING for next season has started with Mossley officially safe from the threat of relegation from the Evo-Stik League Division One North.
The Lilywhites can’t be caught by the bottom two, Wakefield and Ossett Albion. Mossley have five games left, the next on Tuesday at home against Northwich Victoria.
Band said: “We’re okay in terms of squad numbers, so if the lads stick with us next season, as most have said they will, then we’ll just need a couple more quality additions. There is not much between top and bottom in our division. We’ve seen that this week when we should have beaten (third-placed) Warrington, before we then lost at New Mills on Monday.”
CHADDERTON and OLDHAM BORO are in North-West Counties League First Division action tomorrow.
Chadderton travel to Stockport to play Cheadle Town, no doubt keen to bounce back from Wednesday’s 3-0 reverse at fellow mid-table outfit AFC Darwen. Boro are at home against Hanley Town.
