Swimming: TALENTED teenage pair Jessica Lloyd and Jessica Fullalove will both be in action at the British Gas British Swimming Championships in Glasgow this weekend.

There will be plenty at stake for both Oldham teenagers, with medals and 2014 Team England Commonwealth Games places up for grabs.

Diggle-based Lloyd (19) and Royton’s Fullalove (17), who both swim for the City of Manchester Aquatics team, will be among 600 competitors at the championships, which started yesterday and close on Tuesday.

London 2012 Olympian Lloyd, who took in an intense training camp in San Diego, California, during the winter, will compete in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle events.

AS-level student Fullalove — who won three bronze medals in last year’s championships — goes in the 50m, 100m and 200m backstroke. She got her campaign under way in the 100m today. She is confident of earning a place in the Commonwealths team.

Fullalove has recently returned from a gala in Berlin at which she won gold and silver medals as part of the City of Manchester team.
