Hardman is Houses’ star

A SUPER performance from Nick Hardman helped Woodhouses to a comfortable seven-wicket victory at struggling Thornham in the Greene King Lancashire County League.
Hardman took four for 39 as the hosts laboured to 163 all out.
Hardman then smashed an impressive 60 not out as Woodhouses roared to victory at Rochdale Road.
The five points lifted Woodhouses into sixth place in the league table.
DELPH’S losing streak was extended across what turned out to be a miserable weekend.
Yesterday Grant Jones’s men were knocked out of the Heavy Woollen Cup at the quarter-final stage at home by Bradford League strugglers Pudsey Congs.
The Yorkshire visitors batted first and scored a commanding 266 for seven from their 50 overs.
In reply, Delph were eventually bowled out still 15 runs shy of their target. That was despite 84 from Graeme Simpson, 79 from Greg Buckley and Andy Gleave’s 44.
Delph’s Huddersfield League Premiership campaign is stuttering at present. They lost again on Saturday, beaten by fellow mid-table outfit Barkisland at Huddersfield Road.
