Date published: 21 July 2014
DESPITE the overnight and morning downpours, Woodhouses still managed to gain a morale-boosting Greene King Lancashire County League reduced-overs victory at Woodbank.
Late in the afternoon both sides were offered 22 overs apiece as the Stafford Street surface dried out.
The visitors batted first, racking up a decent 124 for four total.
Woodbank were skittled for 105 in reply as Woodhouses pocketed five crucial points which lifted them to fourth place in the table.
DELPH started their home Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership clash against Slaithwaite, reaching 95 for three from 15 overs before heavy rain halted proceedings for the day.
Greg Buckley was left unbeaten on 46, while Arron Lilley scored 40, as both teams had to settle for two points each.
