DAVE Ireland took first place in the latest Monarch AC match on the club water.

He used chopped worm and caster to register a 34lb 5oz catch of carp and ide.

Dave White was second with chub and roach falling to pole and caster fished up in the water for 31lb 10oz.

Alan Sixsmith was third with a maggot-tempted 24lb 15oz, followed by John Claire’s 21lb catch taken on corn.

Geoff Ogden (Tight Lines) is having a good run in the Twingate AC evening matches, and he added to that with a win in this week’s encounter.

Fishing caster on just his top four sections, Ogden caught fish all night, weighing in 17lb 9oz of ide, roach and skimmers.

Ireland added to his win in the Monarch match with a second place thanks to 16lb 5oz of ide and skimmers.

He was followed by Steve Finnerty’s (Tight Lines) 14lb 8oz of skimmers and ide.

THE Medlock Bridge AC open match on the Park Lake was won by Martin Taylor (Matrix Halifax) with the pole and chopped worm working well for 13lb 3oz of perch, skimmers and tench.

Mick Tighe was second and again it was a worm approach that tempted his well-earned 12lb 10oz mixed bag.

Steve Hall fished chopped worm and caster for a third-placed 11lb 8oz.

In Monday evening’s Medlock Bridge match, Mick Addy topped the weights with a mixed net scaling 13lb.

He was closely followed by Simon Cook’s 10lb 2oz. Pete Cuniffe completed the top three with a hemp and caster-taken 9lb 1oz.
