Hardman ton in vain

WOODHOUSES put in a brave effort, but were beaten by Glossop in their Greene King Lancashire County League top-of-the-table clash at Belfields.

The fourth-placed hosts took first knock and appeared to have set a challenging 214 for nine total against second-in-the-table Glossop.

Nick Hardman was in terrific form in the baking hot sun as he top-scored with a smart 103.

However, Lee Dale bettered that knock in Glossop’s reply as his 110 not out helped the High Peak outfit to a 217 for three and four precious points as they kept up their pursuit of leaders Denton St Lawrence.

DELPH slipped to defeat again as their Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership campaign continues to falter.

In action at Kirkburton, the hosts took first knock and scored 154 for nine.

Jamshad Ahmad took three wickets for 30 and Craig Fletcher three for 56.

In reply, Delph were bowled out for 148, despite a knock of 37 from Andy Gleave.
