JESSICA Fullalove insists she is hellbent on completing a hat-trick of Youth Olympic Games medals after the Royton swimmer qualified for another final in Nanjing.
There is no rest for Fullalove in China and after two silver medals, she was back in the water yesterday, eyeing up a spot in the 50m backstroke showpiece.
And the 18 year old successfully navigated her way through her morning heat before doing the same in the later semi-final, touching home in 28.94 seconds to finish second, putting Fullalove in today’s final as the fourth-fastest qualifier.
But the Crompton House School pupil is looking at improving on that when the water has settled following the final as she eyes up a third trip to the podium.
“I am happy with that,” she said. “I am fourth going into the final so that is good and hopefully I can get on that podium in the final. I came here just looking to get into the final and it is job done in that respect.
“I wanted to dip under 29 seconds, which I did. Now it is about smashing my personal best in the final, where it really matters.”
As well as the 50m backstroke to look forward to today, Fullalove will be looking for more relay
success as she makes up a quarter of Team GB’s girl’s 4x100m freestyle relay squad.
