WOODHOUSES are back to sixth place in the Greene King Lancashire County League standings thanks to back-to-back victories.

Yesterday second-bottom Cheetham Hill batted first at Catherine Road and were bowled out for an unspectacular 134.

But Woodhouses made hard work of taking victory, losing seven wickets on the way.

On Saturday, ’Houses pocketed an impressive 29-run victory against Dukinfield at Belfields.

The hosts were dismissed for 189, with Chris Reeves’ knock of 75 the highlight. Dukinfield then fell to 160 all out in their reply.

IT proved to be a mixed weekend for Delph in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership.

Yesterday they recovered from a shocking start to beat Shelley by 86 runs.

The six points ensured Delph are safe from relegation.

Delph stuttered to a shock defeat at home against rock-bottom Holmfirth on Saturday.

Nathan Jones top-scored with 38 as the hosts took first knock, but could only muster 110 all out.

In reply, Holmfirth eased to 111 for six to secure a much-needed victory.
