CRICKET: A TERRIFIC second half of the season for Delph has seen them zoom into fifth place in the Drakes Huddersfield League Premiership table.
If they can pick up wins from a double-header this weekend, Grant Jones’s men could conceivably sneak into the top three.
Delph have a couple of away trips, but will fancy their chances of good results from Skelmanthorpe tomorrow and Elland on Sunday. Both this weekend’s opponents have struggled this season.
Delph stuttered slightly when beaten by Holmfirth last Saturday, but 24 hours later bounced back with a 86-run victory over Shelley. Both Delph’s games start at 1pm.
WOODHOUSES are back up to sixth place in the Greene King Lancashire County League standings thanks to back-to-back wins – against Dukinfield and Cheetham Hill – last weekend.
Tomorrow they host a Thornham side who have been hovering precariously above the bottom two all season. The match at Belfields starts at 12.30pm.
