RU team hit by early setbacks

RUGBY UNION: OLDHAM RUFC face a tough away tie at Garstang in the first round of the Lancashire Plate tomorrow (3pm).
And they go there following a poor performance in last week’s friendly defeat at Dukinfield.
That display was disappointing enough without injuries to two key forwards.
Chris Mackenzie broke a thumb and will be out for two months, while number eight Stuart Brennan sustained a shoulder injury which will sideline him for a month.
With Phil Conroy and Rhys Jones on holiday and Joe Hesse doubtful with an ankle injury, Oldham with probably be without five key players tomorrow.
