FOOTBALL: HEYSIDE bounced back from a midweek loss at Meltham Athletic with a convincing 4-0 home victory against Honley in Division Two of the Huddersfield League.
With eight players making their home league debuts, Heyside opened the scoring after 20 minutes.
Following a fast, flowing move, Gary Chan set up Chris Ollerton, who finished convincingly to open his Heyside account.
Ten minutes into the second half, man-of-the-match Ryan Barnes smashed the ball into the top corner to make it 2-0. It was no surprise when James Leonard made it three from the penalty spot, and the same player made it 4-0 as he beat the visitors’ offside trap.
Diggle impressed in a 2-0 victory at Shelley in Division One, while Moorside thumped Mount 5-0 in Division Four.
