Oldham on a roll again

FOOTBALL: RIFLE ‘A’ kicked off the defence of their Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division title in fine style. Paddy McGuirk’s side saw off newly-promoted Oldham GPO 3-0.

Limeside King George won by the odd goal in seven at Coppice.

Westwood had Delwar Hussain, Al Amin and Farhad Choudary on target in a 3-3 thriller against Fitton Hill, who replied through Aaron Murdoch (two) and Teo Coleman.

David Shaw (two), Jack Lowther and Tom Evans registered for Limeside Athletic as they beat Springhead 4-0 in David Giblin Division One.

Crompton Vics beat Rifle ‘B’ 3-2 thanks to Darren Lonergan (two) and John Ryder. Ant Morris and Jacob Davies replied.

Sean Morrow was a hat-trick hero in Chaddy Cot’s 6-3 victory at Albion.

Tony Lloyd (two), Adam Buggings, Callum Beckett, Lee Kerwin and Ian Burns scored for Carrion Crow as they thumped Cartshaft 6-0.

FC Failsworth beat Royton Athletic 7-3 as Daryl Lawrence (two), Aaron Hurst, Nick Cain, Daniel Hurst, Ryan Hurst and Jonathan Lambert were on target.

Curtis Norris bagged four goals for Alt Athletic as they saw off The Dog 6-3 in Martin Buckley Division Two.

Thomas Cooper and Liam Tupman also struck, with Jack Schofield, Steven Slack and Chris Keightley replying.

Sam Leigh hit four goals as Blue Club crushed White House 6-2.

Adam Ruddock and Ben Green also registered for the Club, while Jordan Holt and Sheldon Young hit back.

Sheldon Casey-Clark and Paul Badby were the scorers for Legends as they edged out Houghton Arms 2-1. Tom Heap replied.

Mike Winterbottom (two), Jordan Hall (two) and Shaun Renshaw netted for Limeside FC in a 5-3 win against Oldham XI.

Ash Ainsworth was the day’s biggest scorer, hitting all five goals for Horseshoe as they beat Manchester Swifts 5-2.
