Non-league football: MITCHELL Bryant was Mossley’s hero again with two goals towards his side’s 3-2 Evo-Stik League Division One North victory at Kendal Town. The Lilywhites are now up to an impressive eighth in the table.
Mossley got off to a terrific start at the Northgate Stadium, firing themselves 2-0 ahead after just six minutes.
Bryant and Dean Warburton handed the visitors their early advantage. Kendal skipper Warren Beattie pulled a goal back from the penalty spot before half-time, but just four minutes after the restart Bryant struck again to make it 3-1.
Kieran Pickup pounced to make it 3-2 just after the hour mark, but the Lilywhites hung on for another precious three points in a game which saw both sides reduced to 10 men.
The Lilywhites are away at Farsley in their next league fixture on Saturday.
OLDHAM BORO secured a 2-2 draw in their home North-West Counties League First Division fixture against AFC Darwen.
Nathan Adams and a Damian Schofield penalty had helped Boro into a 2-1 half-time lead, but Bobby Langford bagged a point for Darwen in the 64th minute.
CHADDERTON’S woes continued as they were beaten 3-0 at home by Atherton Collieries.
Matthew Boland, Kristian Holt and Wes Bancroft were the scorers.
Boro are back in league action tonight at Daisy Hill tonight, while Chaddy host Hyde FC in the Manchester Premier Cup first round tomorrow.
Both games kick-off at 7.45pm.
