FOOTBALL: HEYSIDE produced a scintillating display as they thrashed sorry Linthwaite Athletic 10-0 in Division Two of the Huddersfield and District League.
The rout began in the 10th minute as James Leonard opened the scoring. Despite Gary Molyneux limping off five minutes later with a cracked bone, the home side scored four more goals in the first half.
The local side showed no mercy and five more goals were added in the second half with fantastic, fast-paced football.
Debutant Aird completed a well-deserved hat-trick and Leonard scored a second-half treble to make it seven goals in four games for the pacy front man.
Daniel Dunn completed the rout with 10 minutes left as Heyside continued to open up a bewildered Linthwaite back-line.
Diggle lost 2-0 at home in the top flight. Uppermill triumphed 3-1 at Junction.
