Horseshoe’s luck runs out as Fitton Hill hit 13

FOOTBALL: FITTON Hill were the biggest scorers of the day as the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League President’s Trophy first-round ties took centre stage.

Hill crushed Horseshoe 13-0, with Callum Franklin leading the way with six goals.

Albion Inn cruised to a 7-0 win against Limeside thanks to strikes from Tom Smith (three), Dillon Skinner (two), Mark Fadeyibi and Liam Seddon.

Jordan Holt (two), Matt Bowyer and David Riley scored for White House as they beat Royton Athletic 4-2. Dane English and Danny Hitchen replied.

Limeside Athletic beat Carrion Crow 7-2, while Rifle ‘B’ eased to a 3-1 success at Blue Club thanks to Nathan Barker, Callum Standring and David Laryea.

Cartshaft edged out Alt Athletic 3-1 on penalties following a 2-2 draw.

Naved Butt (two), Umar Khan and Waheed Asif registered for Coppice United as they saw off High Crompton Victoria 4-1. Danny Pearson scored for Vics.

Oldham GPO beat Crown FC 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw. Kane Hughes scored for Crown, with Thomas Siwka hitting back.

Israel Asemota bagged a hat-trick as his Failsworth Athletic side squeezed out Chaddy Cot 4-3.

The Dog, who had Rob Heap (two) and an own-goal registering, beat White Hart 5-4 on penalties following a 3-3 draw.

Last but not least, Westwood FC beat Oddies 14 6-5 in a real goal-fest.



THE tie between Rochdale Rangers and Houghton Arms at Cathedral Road was postponed after Rangers failed to bring goal nets - their responsibility as the designated “home” side.
