Coppice stunned by Sultan’s hero show

FOOTBALL: NIALL Sultan was the Failsworth Athletic hero as they beat Coppice United 4-3 in the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division.
Sultan scored all four of Athletic’s goals in a memorable personal effort. United’s replies came from Umar Khatab, Naveed Butt and Yassir Ali.
Nathan Eastmond scored all three goals for Rifle ‘A’ as they came from behind to beat fierce rivals Limeside King George 3-1 in the ‘OSL Classico’.
Jermaine Steele scored in the first minute for King George, who remain at the top of the table despite their first defeat of the season.
High Crompton Victoria were the big winners in David Giblin Division One, beating Royton Athletic 4-0.
Nick Campbell (two), John Ryder and Scott Freeman were on target for fourth-placed Vics.
Chaddy Cot drew 1-1 with Springhead Libs. Nick Hartley scored for the Cot, while Daniel Gorden replied.
FC Failsworth and Cartshaft produced a rare goalless draw, while Limeside Athletic beat Albion Inn 6-4.
Tom Evan (three), Dave Shaw, Jack Lowther and Jamie Quinlan scored for Athletic, while Damian Gibbons (three) and Leo Sutherland hit back.
There were plenty of goals in Martin Buckley Division Two, with Legends cruising to a 10-4 victory against Horseshoe. Leighton Stephenson (five), Bobby Fulham (three), S Baldwin and Paul Badby scored for Legends, with Ash Ainsworth (three) and Alex Powell replying.
Adam Ruddock and Sam Leigh both bagged trebles as Blue Club beat Oldham XI 6-2. Tom Breza and Paul Stevenson scored for Oldham.
