HEYSIDE dropped their first home points of the season as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Aimbry in Division Two of the Huddersfield and District League.

The hosts were denied by a resilient back line, who were able to keep a tight rein on the prolific front men.

Despite starting well — Will Mellor went close early on — Heyside fell behind to a 20th-minute free-kick. The home side responded almost immediately with Daniel Dunn’s quality ball into the box converted by the head of Josh Briddon.

Aimbry were back in front five minutes after half-time when a long-range effort was only parried by ’keeper Jack Suttie and the rebound was slammed home.

Nathan Lamb, one of three Heyside substitutions, was particularly lively and he volleyed in the equaliser with 15 minutes to go. Heyside then threw everything at Aimbry, who held firm to claim a point.
