Best ever

Non-league football:

MOSSLEY joint-managers Peter Band and Lloyd Morrison will face a job to try to keep a lid on their players’ enthusiasm at Ossett Town tonight.

The Lilywhites are in tremendous form in the Evo-Stik League Division One North, having won four of their last six league games. Saturday’s 4-2 Tameside derby victory over Droylsden lifted them to eighth in the table.

As Band prepares to take his confident charges to Queens Terrace for tonight’s clash against mid-table Town, he was keen to salute a performance against the Bloods he claims as the “best ever” from his team since he and Morrison took over from Steve Halford in summer 2013.

“The lads played fantastic against Droylsden. We could have scored 10 or 11 goals. We’re taking our chances at the moment, and on Saturday we were three up after just half-an-hour.

“Droylsden were fourth in the table going into the game, but we just pressed them high and went for it.

“The lads are full of confidence, but we have to try to keep their feet on the ground.”
