Limeside thumped by clinical Legends

Football: LIMESIDE were definitely out of luck as they lost13-0 to rampant Legends in a Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Martin Buckley Division Two clash.

Leighton Stephenson and Paul Badby both hit four times for Legends, while Darren Iberson (two), Stephen Grimshaw, Nick Fitzpatrick and an own-goal completed the tally.

Steve Barrow scored a hat-trick for Alt Athletic, but it was in vain as his team lost 5-3 at Oddies 14.

Oddies’ scorers were Ste Dobson (two), Chris Taylor (two) and Ricky Cropper.

Ash Ainsworth (three), Chris Simpson, Andrew Benson and Daniel Jackson scored for Horseshoe in a 6-4 win at The Dog, while Adam Ruddock (three), Adam Sutcliffe (two) and Sam Leigh netted for Blue Club in a 6-2 romp at White Hart. Gareth Hey and Tony Harrison replied.

Paul Mullen, Paul Stevenson and Rob Quinlan were on target for Oldham XI as they edged out White House 3-2. Paul Hardy and Jordan Holt replied.

In the Jack Abbott Premier Division, Gareth Hill (two) and Danny O’Connell registered as Heyside prevailed 3-2 at Coppice United. Mehdi Ali and Shabbir Ali replied for Coppice.

Thomas Siwka, Adam Cumpsty and Michael Wood provided the firepower as Oldham GPO beat Crown 3-0.

Failsworth Athletic triumphed 3-1 at Westwood thanks to Niall Sultan (two) and Jack Turnbull. Farhad Chowdhury replied.

David Giblin Division One action saw Danny Fitzhugh (two) and Callum Beckett register for Carrion Crow as they beat Albion Inn 3-0.

Ryan Hobin (three), Jacob Davies and Gaz Cregan were on target as Rifle ‘B’ defeated Cartshaft 5-2. Rob Flynn and Aaron McDermott replied.

Chaddy Cott won by the odd goal in seven against Royton Athletic thanks to Niall Barnes (two), Mark Hearne and Josh Cass. Danny Hitchens (two) and Jamie Clarke hit back for Athletic.

Daryl Lawrence and Jonathan Lambert scored for FC Failsworth in a 2-2 draw against High Crompton, for whom Nick Campbell and Darren Longden replied.

Dave Shaw, Jamie Quinlan and Declan Sandiford pounced for Limeside Athletic as they edged to a 3-2 win against Springhead Libs. Scott Ashton and Kieron Bland scored for the Libs.
