Kays finds it tough on his return

JON Kays is back in business - though admits he needs to do better if he is to get back into the British title mix.
Kays (31) returned to the ring for the first time since an unsuccessful Lonsdale belt tilt in May with a routine points victory against journeyman Ibrar Riyaz. Super-featherweight Kays gained referee Alvin Finch’s verdict by 59 points to 56 following six tough rounds.
After extending his professional record to 19 wins and a draw from 24 fights, Kays said: “To be honest I struggled to get going at times. It is hard, though. It’s rounds under my belt and a fight closer to another British title shot. That’s the level I believe I deserve to be. I’ve proved that.”
Kays will more than likely return to the ring as early as possible in the new year.
