NETBALL:
OLDHAM Netball Club never gave Roses rivals Leeds Athletic a moment’s peace as they won 61-39 in the National Premier League.
The reigning champions won every quarter on their way to maintaining their 100 per cent record - now six wins out of six.
Emerging with all guns blazing, Oldham bagged five unanswered goals. The defence was also on its game, preventing Leeds from building up any flow.
Leading 17-11 after the opening quarter, a six-goal flurry in the second quarter took Oldham further clear, while pressure from Emma Dovey and Webster at the back forced mistakes from the Leeds attack.
Despite enjoying a half-time advantage of 31-19, Oldham were determined to keep their foot on the gas.
Alice Travis took over the shooter role while Kerry Almond and Rachel Henry returned to the court.
Travis quickly made an impression and the Leeds defence found Oldham too hot to handle.
With a 14-point lead (46-30), Hallas made yet more changes and the goals kept coming.
