HOLLINWOOD are in need of reinforcement after slipping to a 42-34 defeat at Brighouse Rangers in Division Five of the Pennine League.
The Fields New Road outfit was again reduced in number, with players seemingly unwilling to make the trip across the Pennines. Officials had only 14 players available, with no replacemements for two who received knocks during the match.
Brighouse raced into a 16-0 lead, before Hollinwood hit back with a try from man-of-the-match Pete Davies and an Andy Gorey conversion. When Steve Hubbert went in, again goaled by Gorey, the visitors had reduced the deficit to four points at 16-12.
Gutsy Hollinwood drew level early in the second half with a Matty McCullough score out wide.
Jack Mayall dived in for a couple of tries, Gorey converting one, but aided by some weak tackling, Brighouse gradually pulled away.
