ANGLING: DAVE Holland is carrying all before him on the local scene.

The Tri-Cast Highfield man added to his list with victory in the Saturday Open on Old Hough Farm’s on Boulders Lake. Holland had 36lb of mirrors and f1s.

Next was Richard Rawthorne of Gilders Tackle. He opted for chopped worm and caster tactics for 16lb 8oz of ide.

The match on Swallow Lake saw Paul Greenlees pocket top honours with a 10lb 3oz catch consisting of ide on chopped worm down the track. Kevin Price, in second spot, weighed in 8lb 6oz of crucians and commons on the five-metre pole and meat over hemp.

Holland then switched his attention to Border Fisheries, where his Meridian peg was full of f1s.

He caught on pellet to weigh-in a cracking net of 57lb - a catch more than double that of runner-up Steve Tucker.

DAVE White was also in double-winning form. He was the winner of the Socials AC match on Tyle Lodge, with pole and maggot working for 24lb 10oz of silvers.

Rod Illing had 22lb 12oz of small carp and silvers on the tip, feeder and pole for second place, while Steve Platts was third with a 19lb 14oz bag of carp and silvers. However, he lost three match-winning carp.

White followed up with victory in the Twingate AC OAPs’ match on the club water - a level 10lb of silvers. Geoff Carr tempted 8lb 10oz of silvers caster-fished short and long, but he lost a 6lb carp that would have won him the match.

DAVE Bradley, of Maver NW, won the latest round of the Pennine Winter League series of matches on the Mirfield Canal. He used bread and caster, which accounted for 10lb of roach and perch.

Second-best Warren McCleavy (Tri-Cast Calder) had a similar net of 9lb 12oz.
