Ruthless Legends stun White House

FOOTBALL: LEGENDS of Lees hit double figures as they crushed White House 11-2 in the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Challenge Cup first round.
Gareth Armstead and Darren Iberson both scored hat-tricks while Jonathan Akaly (two), Paul Badby (two) and Yasser Rahaman completed Legends’ tally. Gordon Cooke and David Riley replied for White House.
Callum Parker (two), Andrew Whitehouse, Scott Waldren and Adam Ford netted for Manchester Swifts as they defeated White Hart 5-0.
Sam Leigh, Adam Ruddock and Ben Green pounced for Blue Club as they edged out The Dog 3-2, for whom Paul Clayton and Jack Schofield replied.
Danny Hitchen scored a treble in Royton Athletic’s 8-5 win against Limeside Athletic.
Jamie Clarke (two), Dave English, Dylan Ault and Josh Lockett completed Royton’s tally, while Tom Evans (two), Coby Tyrrell, Declan Sandiford and Jordan Fitzpatrick replied.
Nathan Eastmond, Carl Beamish and Ryan Hobin scored for Rifle ‘A’ as they beat Limeside King George 3-2. Grant Marshall and Leon Melia hit back for King George.
Simon Lomas (two) and Adam Cumpsty netted in Oldham GPO’s 3-2 triumph at Haughton Arms, for whom James Gardiner and Tom Heap replied.
