FOOTBALL: OLDHAM Sunday League Premier Division side Fitton Hill and player Aaron Murdoch have been punished by the Manchester County FA.

The club has been fined £100 and “severely warned” following the first-half abandonment of a Jack Abbott Premier Division clash against Heyside FC in September.

Following his sending-off in Fitton Hill’s game against Coppice United two weeks earlier, Murdoch has been banned from all football for seven games, severely warned and fined £90.

BOTH Avro and Royton Town hit six in their latest FBT Manchester League Premier Division fixtures.

Avro – who maintained their sixth place in the table – thumped visitors Chapel Town 6-1.

Springhead’s recent upturn in fortunes came to a halt as they were beaten 2-1 at Stockport Georgians.

In Division One, leaders Uppermill returned from Beechfield United with a creditable 2-2 draw.

Jordan Stepien and Jack Shaw were on target.

Hollinwood secured an away point in a 1-1 draw at Breightmet, but Chadderton’s second string went down 4-1 at Irlam Steel.
