AUSTERLANDS Cricket Club are celebrating a £10,000 grant for much-needed improvements to their Thorpe Lane ground.
The five-figure sum has been signed off by the trustees of the Lancaster Club.
Austerlands, who are members of the Saddleworth and District Cricket League, are using the money to make good the clubhouse roof.
“This significant contribution is huge boost for the club and the committee would like to place on record their thanks to the trustees of the Lancaster Club,” said an Austerlands spokesperson.
Hollinwood CC benefited from a Lancaster Club grant in the past.
Monies were provided to upgrade the dressing rooms and bowling hut at the Lime Lane site.
There is a pot of money available to hand out to sporting organisations within an eight-mile area of the Lancaster Club.
