FOOTBALL: A SUPERB comeback saw Chadderton defeat AFC Darwen 5-3 in their rearranged FA Carlsberg Vase second-round clash last night.
The local outfit looked to be heading for the exit door when efforts from Paul Coote, Connor Gaul and Karl Turner handed the home side a three-goal lead just after the half-hour mark.
But Adam Whitehead’s double (42,47) and an own goal (55) levelled things up, before Neil Sultan (89) and Daniel Murray (90) clinched an unlikely victory late one.
Chadderton now host Newcastle Benfield in round three on Saturday.
