OLDHAM RL Club have confirmed a pre-season warm-up game with Leigh Centurions at Leigh Sports Village on Sunday, February 8 (kick-off 3pm).

It will be the second of three friendlies for Scott Naylor’s men as they prepare for their eagerly-awaited League One Cup opener against new boys Coventry Bears at Whitebank on the weekend of February 28/March 1.

The pre-season programme starts with a game against Swinton Lions at Sedgley Park on Sunday, February 1; continues with the Leigh game seven days later; and concludes with a trip to Barrow Raiders on Sunday, February 15.

Sunday, February 22 will be left blank before the season proper starts with the new cup competition on the following weekend.

Outside of Super League, Leigh were the most talked-about team in rugby league last season. They topped the Championship with 15 points to spare over second-placed Featherstone. they beat Featherstone 36-12 in the Grand Final, and they gave Leeds Rhinos a serious fright in the last eight of the Challenge Cup at Headingley.
