LEADERS Uppermill ‘A’ emerged victorious against title rivals Hollinwood ‘B’ in Division Two of the Oldham and District Table Tennis League.

The 6-4 success saw ’Mill extend their lead to 11 points, despite a treble from Peader McKinstry.

At the other end of the spectrum, bottom side Hollinwood ‘C’ celebrated a rare victory as they beat Hyde YM ‘B’ 6-4.

Paul Hutchinson was the star of the show, recording an exceptional win against YM’s reliable Steve Hilton.

They are now five points adrift of Stanley Square.

In Division Three, Our Lady’s ‘A’ registered an excellent 8-2 triumph against seasoned campaigners Gilders Tackle, with junior player Zak Cantor taking the player-of-the-match award with a hat-trick.

He received fine support from Harry Lewis, who also notched a treble, and a Lewis Toal double.

The unusual scoreline of 6-2 was recorded by Werneth ‘C’, fielding a guest, against Unison ‘C’.

The latter were represented by the solitary Ted Robakowski, who lost to Doreen Schofield, but beat Harry Ross.

Five sets were awarded to Werneth, with one going to Unison and two declared void.
