Breathtaking Blue Coat

Date published: 17 December 2014

BLUE Coat emerged triumphant at the Oldham Secondary Schools Girls’ Cross-Country Championships, which were staged at Chadderton Hall Park.

Crompton House finished runners-up, while North Chadderton finished third.

Blue Coat were also the overall boys’ and girls’ champions, ahead of Crompton House and Hulme.

Schools Games Organiser Steve Tyrrell said: “We had a really good response from all the borough’s secondary schools to this well-established and popular event.

“All youngsters involved are encouraged to seek out a local running club and further develop their talent in the sport of athletics and cross-country.

“The best runners from this event are now selected to represent Oldham at the Greater Manchester Schools’ Cross-Country Championships at Woodbank Park in Stockport on February 7 next year.”

Training sessions for this will take place at Chadderton Hall Park over Christmas and at Radclyffe School in the new year. For more details email steve.tyrrell@oldham.gov.uk
