ROB McKendry topped the Todmorden AS Christmas match on Croft and Townhouse.

Situated on Townhouse, he had a match-winning 15lb 8oz of silvers.

Pete Mottram, the runner-up, had 14lb 12oz at the same venue.

Townhouse was the place to be as third-placed Steve Hall (11lb 5oz) was also drawn there.

The section winner at Croft was Ray Barber, who had 10lb 9oz, followed by Ian Ridgeway’s 6lb 12oz.

Mottram is the 2014 Todmorden AS club champion, with Chris Lett the runner-up and Rob McKendry in third.

DAVE Machin maintained his good form on Tanners Dam by winning the latest Diggle AC Tuesday match.

He landed four carp and skimmers on pole and maggot which together weighed in at 22lb 3oz.

Geoff Dawson was some way adrift in second place with 4lb 14oz of silvers, again taken on pole and maggot.

Eon Wilson was third with another silvers net taken on maggot and weighing 4lb 12oz.

ROACH was to the fore as everyon caught in the TH open match on the Morrisons length of the Rochdale Canal.

Winner Steve Clegg, of Saints, boasted roach almost every put-in on bread punch at 10 metres for a 7lb 12oz catch.

Former England international Paul Hughes, also of Saints, had a surprise 3lb tench, along with roach and perch on bread punch and chopped worm for a second-placed effort of 7lb 4oz.

John Edwards (Leigh Tackle and Bait) was third.

He had a good start to the match, catching several small skimmers and some decent roach on the four and nine-metre pole, for 6lb 12oz.

Tomorrow’s TH open match is on the Vinegar works length of the Rochdale Canal.
