FOOTBALL: THE Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League programme was decimated by frozen pitches last weekend.

Only three fixtures survived, while FC Failsworth suffered an agonising Manchester County Cup exit.

Up against FC Conservative Club, Failsworth drew 3-3 after extra-time, before losing out on a dreaded penalty shoot-out.

Limeside King George were in good nick as they secured a thumping win in the only Jack Abbott Premier Division clash.

King George beat Oldham GPO 5-0, with Dominic Hallam (two), Joe Heap (two) and Liam Cashmore the scorers.

The two other league games were in Martin Buckley Division Two. Rochdale Rangers secured a morale-boosting 2-0 win against The Dog thanks to strikes from Ezequiel Miranda and Jackson Mpela.

White Hart drew 2-2 with White House. Brendan Flaherty and Anthony Duffy netted for White Hart, while Eddie Aspin and Jordan Holt replied.

There’s a cracking Premier Division encounter in prospect if the weather holds out on Sunday.

Current top flight leaders King George are sure to be tested as they host old rivals Rifle ‘A’, who still boast a 100-per-cent winning league record after seven games so far this term.

DIGGLE lost 1-0 at Heywood Irish in Division One of the Huddersfield League.

Nick Warehurst (two), Jaya Cawthorne and Dan Whittle scored for Uppermill in a 4-2 Division Four win against Junction, while 3D Dynamos triumphed 3-0 at local rivals Moorside. See Match of the Day.

In Reserves Division Three, 3D Dynamos are still eight points clear at the top following a 3-2 victory against Flockton.

Chris Woods, Simon Poulter and Chris Barlow netted for Uppermill in a 3-1 Reserves Division Four success at Aimbry.

FAILSWORTH Dynamos were held to a 1-1 home draw by Tottington United in the Premier Division of the Lancashire Amateur League.

Dynamos face a tough knock-out test tomorrow when they head to local rivals Heyside to contest a mouthwatering Manchester Cup tie.
