TABLE TENNIS: POLLARDS ‘A’ have pulled away at the top of Division Four in the Oldham and District Table Tennis League.

They have built up an eight point lead after 9-1 victory against second-bottom Werneth ‘D’.

Grotton ‘B’ are up to second place thanks to an 8-2 defeat of Deaf ‘C’, although the scoreline was rather flattering as the fixture could have ended in a draw.

Owls ‘A’, who had no game, are 12 points behind in third spot, but they have a game in hand.

Uppermill ‘A’ have been flying high in Division Two for the last couple of months.

This week they made no mistake in sweeping aside Saddleworth ‘C’ 8-2 to extend their lead to a

commanding 15 points.

Unison ‘A’ are in the hunt for honours, keeping in touch with a 7-3 win against Hyde YM ‘B’. They are third in the table, five points behind Hollinwood ‘B’ but with a game in hand.
