Kennedy breaks clear

SNOOKER: DESPITE conceding the maximum start of 60 points, Martin Kennedy easily won the second frame for North Chadderton ‘B’ in their fixture against Nimble Nook in the Oldham Amateuur Snooker League.
Helped by a break of of 44, he triumphed by 52 chalks nett, and a massive 112 without the handicap.
Kennedy’s team-mate, Danny Balcerzak, made a break of 30 in his frame, but he was unable to register a win as the match ended in a hard-fought 3-3 draw.
Reigning champions Three Cs ‘A’ started 2015 with a bang, inflicting a 6-0 whitewash on Stanley Road ‘B’ .
But it’s North Chadderton ‘A’ who remain the team to catch. Their 5-1 victory at Royton Band leaves them 11 points clear of nearest rivals Chadderton Reform.
A delegates meeting will be held on Sunday (12:30pm) at Chadderton Reform Club. All prelimimary-round knock-out results should be provided to Craig Hall beforehand.
TARA ‘B’ have a commanding 17-points lead at the top of the Saw-Tech Shaw Snooker League following 5-1 and 6-0 victories.
Second-placed Cricket won and lost 5-1 to slip further behind the runaway pacesetters. C North made a break of 35 for Tara ‘A’, while R Tobin compiled a run of 42 for Tara ‘B’ .
