FOOTBALL: THERE was a thrilling climax to the big Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division clash of the day between fierce rivals Rifle ‘A’ and Limeside King George.
Prospects looked rosy for leaders King George as they stormed into a 3-0 lead thanks to two goals from Leon Melia and a third from Joe Heap.
But Paddy McGuirk’s Rifle team stormed back in spectacular style to win the game 4-3, courtesy of strikes from Ryan Hobin, Nathan Eastmond, Ryan Fagan and Osman Bushara. Rifle maintained their 100 per cent winning league record as a result.
Oddies 14 continue to fly high in Martin Buckley Division Two following a 3-2 home win against Horseshoe. Michael Casson (two) and Ste Donson scored for Oddies, while Ash Ainsworth’s brace for Horseshoe proved to be in vain.
Blue Club and White Hart produced a 3-3 draw as Sam Leigh, Adam Ruddock and Michael Wood netted for the hosts, with Stu Wilson, Ant Duffy and Brendan Flaherty replying.
Ezequiel Miranda, Idi Lulaca and Jackson Mpela scored for Rochdale Rangers as they defeated Oldham XI 3-0.
