JON Kays is ‘buzzing’ after confirmation he will top the bill at an exciting Oldham Sports Centre show in April.
The Ashton-based fighter (31) is battling his way back into contention after losing a British super-featherweight title against Gary Sykes last May.
Despite protests Kays was stopped in the 10th round and has fought only once since, last October.
Kays will be back in title action on April 18 at the sports centre when he fights for the WBC international silver belt against an as-yet-unnamed opponent.
“To be fighting for a title at Oldham again will be brilliant. I’m buzzing for it already,” he said.
“I love fighting in Oldham. All I have to do is turn left out of my front door and I’m there in a few minutes!
“If I win this silver title I automatically gain a top-15 ranking and - as daft as it sounds - I could be fighting for a world title soon.
“I’m right back on track again now and I’ve never felt better.”
