Non-league FOOTBALL: MOSSLEY joint-boss Peter Band can’t believe his side’s recent run of superb form hasn’t propelled them into the Evo-Stik League Division One North play-off places.

Despite a run of six wins and three draws in nine games, the Lilywhites are still only ninth, four points shy of Bamber Bridge in the final play-off position.

As long as they keep their fine recent momentum going — starting with tomorrow’s trip to Warrington Town — they ought to eventually reach their top-six goal.

The Lilywhites have a near full strength available for the trip to Cantilever Park. Liam Flynn looks likely to continue in goal in place of ankle injury victim Andy Farrimond, but midfielder Arron Hevingham is still a month away from full fitness.

CHADDERTON and OLDHAM BORO will hope to return to North-West Counties League First Division action tomorrow after a fortnight of inactivity due to postponements.

The former, who host Daisy Hill, will look to build on a 1-0 win against Ashton Town last time out.

Basement side Boro secured an encouraging 1-1 draw at Barnton in their last fixture.

They will hope for some much-needed home comfort as they host Holker Old Boys.
