Fitton Hill storm into Premier Shield last four

FOOTBALL: FITTON Hill and Heyside have fired themselves into the semi-finals of the Midas Plumbing and Heating Oldham Sunday League Jack Abbott Premier Division Shield competition.

Fitton Hill were the more convincing winners in the last eight as they saw off Limeside King George 4-0. Aaron Murdoch and Callum Franklin scored two goals apiece.

Heyside defeated Failsworth Athletic 3-2 thanks to goals from Jason Hill (two) and Chris Ollerton.

In the David Giblin Division One Shield, Carrion Crow triumphed 5-1 at Springhead Libs thanks to efforts from Tony Lloyd (two), Callum Beckett (two) and Ashley Grant.

There was drama in the Martin Buckley Division Two Shield quarter-finals as Blue Club beat Oddies 14 4-1 on penalties after their game had ended goalless after extra-time.

Ash Ainsworth (three), Daniel Jackson (two) and Louis Fitton netted for Horseshoe in a fine 6-2 win at Oldham XI. The hosts replied through Liam Ure and Rob Quinlan.
