T20 triumph for Heyside

CLL SUNDAY
HEYSIDE followed up their league derby win over Oldham with success at Middleton in the Lake Garage CLL Twenty20 competition.
Batting first in their Group ‘B’ clash, Heyside recorded 165 for eight, with skipper Ryan Barnes scoring 46 and Shadley van Schalkwyk 37.
Middleton could only reach 107 for nine in reply.
Werneth (85 for seven) couldn’t quite get the better of Elton (96 for seven) in Group ‘A’, despite Fiaz Khan’s 29 runs and three for 15 bowling return.
Crompton (110 for eight) lost at Milnrow by five wickets in Group ‘B’. Josh Tolley scored 34.
Milnrow pro James Price struck a quickfire 51.

Group ‘A’: Werneth 85-7 (F Khan 29), Elton 96-7 (F Khan 3-15). Group ‘B’: Middleton 107-9, Heyside 165-8 (S van Schalkwyk 37, R Barnes 46); Milnrow 113-5 (J Price 51), Crompton 110-8 (J Tolley 34). Group ‘C’: Unsworth 87-8, Rochdale 88-4 (J Avery 34). Group ‘D’: Clifton 96-8, Monton and Weaste 105-8 (N Bouwer 28).
